Meet the Royals on the Buckingham Palace Balcony.

The Royal Family gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Trooping the Colour flypast, with a scaled-down number of royals compared to previous years. Notably absent were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's children, James and Lady Louise. The event marked King Charles III's first Birthday Parade on horseback, and a full flypast was possible for the first time in his reign. The event has been held for over 260 years to celebrate the reigning monarch's birthday.

King Charles III participated in his first Trooping the Colour as monarch, riding on horseback and joined by other royal Colonels. Princes Louis and George and Princess Charlotte watched the flypast from the Buckingham Palace balcony. The event included a surprise tribute with airplanes spelling out the King's initials, CR. Around 70 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force took part in the extended military flypast. The Trooping the Colour is part of the annual calendar of big royal events and for the first time, it was with King Charles in the leading role.

Rainy Coronation Day for King Charles III: Weather Forecast and Ceremony Similarities.

The Met Office has warned of heavy rain in London during the Coronation of King Charles III tomorrow, with a 60% chance of light rain from 9am until midday, followed by an 80-90% chance of heavy rain until 2pm. The flypast to celebrate the occasion is at risk of being cancelled due to the poor weather conditions. Showers are also expected on Sunday, with heavy and thundery downpours. The UK's warmest day of the year so far was April 17, when 21.2C (70.2F) was recorded at Kinlochewe in northern Scotland.
