Two high school students from Prestonsburg High School in Floyd County, Kentucky, were killed in a car crash early Sunday morning when the truck they were in left the road and overturned. Four others were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The cause of the accident is currently unknown. Grief counselors were made available at the affected schools.
Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Floyd County, Iowa, when a car crossed the center line on Highway 18 and collided with another car. The victims were identified as Steven York, 74, and Keira Duffy, 16, both from Minnesota. Two others were injured and taken to the hospital.
Amber Spradlin, a woman from Prestonsburg, was found dead in the Arkansas Creek community of Martin. The Floyd County Coroner and Kentucky State Police suspect foul play and are investigating the incident. Spradlin's body was sent to Frankfort for an autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's office.
