A 45-year-old Malaysia Airlines passenger, Muhammad Arif, has been charged for allegedly threatening to blow up a plane during a flight from Australia to Malaysia. Arif became disruptive aboard the flight, claiming to have explosives, which led to the plane returning to Sydney Airport. Passengers spent nearly three hours on the plane before Arif was taken into custody. He has been charged with making a false statement about a threat to damage an aircraft and failing to comply with cabin crew instructions.
