United Airlines flight experiences rapid descent and emergency landing after dropping 28,000 feet in minutes
A United Airlines flight bound for Rome returned to Newark Liberty International Airport due to a possible loss of cabin pressure. The plane rapidly descended from 37,000 feet to just below 9,000 feet in 8 minutes. The Boeing 777 flight, carrying 270 passengers and 14 crew members, landed safely and never lost cabin pressure. Passengers were later transported to their destination on another aircraft.
