Flags to be lowered nationwide in remembrance of 9/11 anniversary

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff across the state on Monday in honor of the lives lost during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Ceremonies will also be held at Fort Riley to remember the victims. The attacks, carried out by al-Qaeda in 2001, claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people. Governor Kelly expressed gratitude to the first responders who risked their lives to save others during the tragedy.
