The closure comes after the city of Irvine ended its partnership with Live Nation, the concert promoter, due to concerns about the proposed amphitheater's size and potential noise impacts. Live Nation had proposed a 14,000-seat venue, but city officials have suggested a smaller 10,000-seat amphitheater operated by a third party. Fans expressed disappointment at the closure and the loss of a local outdoor music venue. Live Nation remains open to future collaboration with the city.
