Woman Buys Abandoned House for $1 and Transforms it into Dream Home.
A 36-year-old woman bought an abandoned Victorian house in Liverpool for £1 as part of a program to revive a run-down area. She had to renovate the house within a year, estimated to cost $61,400, but inherited a property and sold it to fund the renovations. She flipped the house's layout to maximize natural light, added skylights, and received community support through her blog and Instagram. After 27 months of work, the house is now worth much more than what she paid in renovations and she plans to rent it out if she ever decides to leave.
