"Los Angeles Production Still Struggling Post-Strikes, FilmLA Report Shows"

TV and film production in Los Angeles struggled to rebound after industry-wide strikes in 2023, with scripted TV production remaining far below historic levels and feature film production continuing to decline. Overall location filming was down 32.4% compared to the prior year, and while production is expected to increase in 2024, it's uncertain if it will reach pre-strike levels. FilmLA president Paul Audley described 2023 as a difficult year for the industry, and noted that networks and streamers are expected to cut back on production, with some of it moving overseas.
