Sydney Sweeney, who is set to play Spider-Woman in the upcoming Madame Web movie, was bitten by a real Huntsman spider while filming a scene for the rom-com "Anyone But You" in Australia. Sweeney shared the incident during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, revealing that the spider was meant to be trained for the scene. Following the bite, Sweeney received medical treatment and was jokingly referred to as Spider-Woman by the doctor. The incident adds an unintended Easter egg to the film and provides a not-entirely canon origin story for the character. Madame Web is a standalone origin story connected to the Sony Spider-Man cinematic universe and is set to release on February 16, 2024.
