Pedestrian bridges on the Las Vegas Strip, which were covered with film to block the view of the upcoming Formula One race, are being vandalized. Tourists and locals have expressed frustration over the obstruction, questioning why the iconic boulevard needs to be blocked for the event. Clark County officials claim it is for safety reasons, as they do not want pedestrians to stop on the overpass and potentially cause congestion. Measures will also be taken to prevent objects from being thrown onto the race track. The responsibility for fixing the peeled-off film remains unclear.
