Elementary Students Exposed to Fentanyl-Laced Gummy Bears: Alarming Incidents and Arrests
Two individuals have been arrested after seven fourth-grade students at a Virginia elementary school ingested fentanyl-laced gummy bears that were brought from home and shared during lunch. The students experienced symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, and muscle spasms, and five of them were taken to the hospital. A field test confirmed the presence of fentanyl, and further testing will be conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The suspects face charges related to contributing to the delinquency and abuse of a child, as well as drug possession. The school district emphasized the importance of not sharing food items and drug awareness. The affected students have been released from the hospital.
