Stolen 'Wizard of Oz' Ruby Slippers Return for Auction After 20 Years
A pair of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz" are up for auction nearly two decades after being stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Minnesota. The slippers, recovered by the FBI in 2018, are one of four remaining pairs from the film. The museum, along with other bidders, is attempting to purchase the slippers, with funds raised from the annual Judy Garland festival and a $100,000 allocation from Minnesota lawmakers. The thief, Terry Jon Martin, was sentenced to time served earlier this year.
