"Dior's Ethereal Couture Show Stuns with 480,000 Hours of Hand Embroidery"

Dior's creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, has collaborated with global contemporary artists and Indian artisans to transform her couture catwalks into public art installations. The latest couture set for Fall 2023 features nine large fabric panels hand-embroidered by 360 Indian artisans over 480,000 hours. The panels showcase goddess drawings by Italian artist Marta Roberti and highlight the significance of Indian craftsmanship at the historic French luxury brand. This collaboration follows previous projects with artists such as Judy Chicago, Madhvi and Manu Parekh, Eva Jospin, and Mickalene Thomas. The set will be on display at the gardens of Musée Rodin until July 9.

"Tiny Handbag Fetches $63K at Auction, Includes Microscope for Viewing"

A microscopic handbag created by a Brooklyn-based art collective, MSCHF, has been sold at auction for $63,000. The fluorescent yellowish-green bag, based on a popular Louis Vuitton design, measures just 657 by 222 by 700 microns and is smaller than a grain of sea salt. Made using two-photon polymerization, the handbag was sold with a microscope for viewing. MSCHF is known for its irreverent art projects and has previously faced legal disputes over its creations, including the "Satan Shoes" featuring satanic symbols and drops of human blood.

"Microscopic MSCHF Handbag Fetches $63K in Record Sale"

An art collective called MSCHF has sold a microscopic handbag, smaller than a grain of salt, for $63,750 at an auction. The bag, made of photopolymer resin and featuring Louis Vuitton branding, requires a microscope to view its design. MSCHF is known for its controversial designs, including shoes with human blood and trainers with holy water. The bag's owner also received a microscope with a digital display. MSCHF did not seek permission from Louis Vuitton to use their branding.
