"FDU Coach's Upset Prediction Comes True in Historic March Madness Win"

Tobin Anderson, head coach of Farleigh Dickinson men's basketball team, led his team to a historic upset of No. 1 seed Purdue in the NCAA Tournament. Anderson began his coaching career in Upstate New York, including a stint at Le Moyne, before moving on to Division I and eventually becoming a head coach at Fairleigh Dickinson. The win is being hailed as the biggest upset in NCAA Tournament history, as Farleigh Dickinson became just the second No. 16 seed to upset a No. 1 seed.

FDU upsets No. 1 Purdue in March Madness opener.

No. 1 seed Purdue lost 63-58 to Farleigh Dickinson, becoming the second top seed to lose to a No. 16 seed since the bracket expanded to 64 teams in 1985. FDU, the automatic bid out of the Northeast Conference, battled the Boilermakers to a draw in the paint despite a mammoth size disadvantage. Purdue struggled to find secondary production alongside 7-foot-4 center Zach Edey, who finished with a game-high 21 points and 15 rebounds. The Knights finished tied for second in the NEC during the regular season and lost in the conference championship game to Merrimack.
