"Faribault Police Bust Tent Sale with Suspected Marijuana Plants"
Faribault police seized 22 suspected marijuana plants from a tent sale in a parking lot on the first day of recreational marijuana legalization in Minnesota. Acting on citizen complaints, officers investigated the sale outside Total Tobacco and found plants labeled by strain, some with THC concentrations exceeding the legal limit for industrial hemp. The plants were seized, but no arrests were made. The owner of NuQanna, a hemp cultivation business, claims they were immature hemp plants with THC levels below the legal requirement. The Faribault Police Department stated that unauthorized cannabis sales will be investigated until the state's Office of Cannabis Management is established.
