A man was killed and a Columbus police officer injured in a shooting on the Far South Side of Columbus. The incident occurred during a possible robbery attempt in a parking lot. Shots were exchanged between the officers and the suspect, resulting in the officer being hit in the leg and the suspect being critically injured. The suspect later died at the hospital. Another person is in custody, and the crime victim was unharmed. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident. This is the second shooting involving Columbus police in August and the fourth since July 4.
