Fatal Workplace Accident in Missouri Due to Contractor's Negligence in Safety Gear Requirements
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Missouri contractor Troyer Roofing & Coatings for multiple safety violations after an 18-year-old worker fell to his death while applying sealant without fall protection. OSHA found that the company did not require safety gear, failed to train employees on its use, and allowed other workers to continue working without fall protection. Troyer has been proposed with over $200,000 in penalties and had previously been cited for similar violations in 2015.
