"British Teen's Mysterious Disappearance Ends with Unexpected French Connection"
British teenager Alex Batty, who was allegedly kidnapped by his mother at the age of 11, lived with a French family under a fake name while trying to escape a commune in the mountains. Going by the name "Zach," Alex lived with Frédéric Hambye and Ingrid Beauve in a remote cottage in La Bastide. The couple claimed that Alex confided in them about his wish to live a normal life and return to the UK. Despite having access to the internet, Alex did not attempt to contact outside help and eventually fled through the Pyrenees to find a way back to the UK. He has since been reunited with his grandmother in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
