Tour de France Sprint Chaos: Jakobsen Battered, Philipsen Dominates, and Van Aert-Vingegaard Tension
Fabio Jakobsen of the Soudal-QuickStep team suffered injuries including a massive abrasion on his shoulder and side after a crash during a high-speed sprint in the Tour de France. Fellow countryman Jasper Philipsen won the stage, while Jakobsen and his team hope for better luck in the upcoming stages. The team manager, Patrick Lefevere, questioned whether the crash was due to the circuit or the riders' actions. Jakobsen's bike was severely damaged, but he managed to finish the race and ride to the team bus.
