Canada widens Express Entry to lure skilled workers, adds military recruits
Canada announced 2026 changes to its Express Entry system to create new priority streams for researchers, senior managers, transport-sector workers, and foreign doctors with Canadian experience, and to admit highly skilled foreign military applicants to the Canadian Armed Forces. The aim is to address labor shortages in critical sectors, reduce reliance on the United States, and bolster defense capabilities, with existing invitation rounds continuing for current categories.
