The phenomenon known as "exercise-induced vomiting" has various triggers, including nutritional, pharmacological, environmental, and psychological factors. One possible cause could be the use of sodium bicarbonate as a pre-race booster, which can lead to bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Another factor could be the rise in lactate levels during high-intensity exercise, which is associated with nausea. Hormonal changes, fasting, caffeine, poor food timing, and altitude exposure can also contribute to exercise-induced vomiting.
