A 2-year-old child in Michigan died from an accidental shooting after accessing an unsecured firearm. The incident comes less than two months after Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed bills requiring safe storage requirements for firearms.

Survivors of gun violence and advocates for gun control laws gathered at a "Wear Orange" event in Albuquerque to raise awareness of the impact of gun violence. Regina Griego, a member of Moms Demand Action and Everytown for Gun Safety, is focused on passing laws to prevent dangerous individuals from obtaining guns and to outlaw large capacity ammunition magazines and assault weapons.
