Miss France's Short Hair Sparks Controversy and Defiance
Miss France Eve Gilles faced international backlash after being crowned with a pixie cut hairstyle, becoming the first contestant in the pageant's history to not have long hair. Social media users accused the judges of promoting "wokeness" and an "androgynous" look. Gilles defended her choice, stating that every woman is different and should not be dictated by societal norms. The Miss Universe pageant spokesperson also supported Gilles, emphasizing that there is no one way to be Miss Universe or Miss France. The pageant has recently embraced greater diversity, allowing for different hairstyles and removing restrictions on age, marital status, and visible tattoos.
