HBO pulls the plug on 'Perry Mason' after two seasons.
HBO has canceled the crime drama series Perry Mason after two seasons, with the news coming just a month and a half after the finale of the show's second season. The show's creative team will still collaborate with HBO on future projects. Perry Mason was based on characters created by Erle Stanley Gardner and was a prequel to the original show that aired from 1957 to 1966. The show's cast was led by Matthew Rhys and also featured Juliet Rylance, Shea Whigham, and John Lithgow. The first season focused on a child kidnapping investigation, and the second season premiered in March 2023.
