
MGM Film Distribution Executive Erik Lomis Passes Away at 64.
Erik Lomis, a veteran film distribution executive who worked at MGM, United Artists Releasing, and the Weinstein Company, has passed away at the age of 64. Lomis oversaw the theatrical release of Oscar winners and big-budget blockbusters and had developed long-standing relationships with filmmakers including Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson, Quentin Tarantino, and Paul Thomas Anderson. He most recently served as MGM's head of theatrical distribution and oversaw the release strategy for "Creed III." Lomis is survived by his wife, children, stepmother, sister, and brother. The cause of his death is unknown.
