"Bloomberg's $200 Million Sustainable Cities Initiative Expands to Cleveland and Columbus"
Bloomberg Philanthropies has launched the American Sustainable Cities initiative, providing $200 million to 25 U.S. cities to leverage over $400 billion in federal funding for climate action and infrastructure revitalization. The initiative aims to support cities in driving progress on climate mitigation and promoting equitable outcomes, with a focus on disadvantaged communities historically overburdened by pollution. Selected cities will receive support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, including an innovation team and customized policy and technical assistance, to implement projects such as affordable energy-efficient housing, clean energy access, and electric vehicle infrastructure.
