Coyotes CEO Xavier Gutierrez has stated that they will avoid sites requiring a public referendum. The team had planned to construct a $2.1 billion entertainment district in Tempe, but the proposal was rejected by voters. The Coyotes are currently playing at Mullett Arena on the Arizona State campus as a temporary solution.
