Enve Composites has officially launched The Fray, an endurance bike designed to fill the gap in the American manufacturer's drop bar line-up. Initially planned for a 2023 release, The Fray is the latest addition to Enve's range of custom road bikes, WorldTour-capable road racing bikes, and gravel steeds, aiming to cater to the needs of endurance cyclists.
The ENVE Fray blurs the lines between endurance and all-road bikes, offering a performance-oriented road bike with generous tyre clearance for versatility. Positioned between ENVE's race and gravel bikes, the Fray is responsive and aggressive, with geometry optimized for 31-35mm tyres and the ability to accommodate up to 40mm tyres. It excels on rough roads and offers options for running different tyre sizes, making it suitable for experienced riders seeking a well-balanced road bike with a performance edge.
Pinarello has unveiled the Dogma X, an endurance bike featuring innovative seatstays called X-Stays that join the seat tube at two separate locations, improving compliance and allowing for 35mm tires. The bike retains the asymmetric design of the pro-pedigree Dogma F and offers a balance of performance and ride comfort. Pinarello has also introduced more affordable X9, X7, and X5 models with a relaxed geometry and revised seatstay arrangement. The X-Series endurance range includes the X9, X7, and X5 models, which feature the FlexiStay 2.0 concept for enhanced compliance.
Giant has released an updated version of its Defy endurance bike, featuring a significantly reduced weight and improved comfort and efficiency. The flagship frame now weighs a claimed 785g, making it one of the lightest endurance bike frames on the market. The new Defy also offers increased tire clearance, a dropped seatstay and asymmetric chainstay design, and a new D-Fuse seatpost and handlebar for added comfort. The range includes three tiers of frames at various price points, with the top-of-the-line Defy Advanced SL priced at £11,499.
