C3.ai Implements Cost-Cutting Measures, Faces Stock Decline
Software maker C3.ai has fired employees, citing the need for cost savings and employee performance. The company, founded by CEO Tom Siebel, framed the cuts as related to individual performance rather than layoffs, with many of those fired receiving only one month of severance. C3.ai had 914 employees as of April. The stock initially gained but later declined after the news of the job cuts. The company has faced criticism for product delays and profitability taking longer than expected. Many other tech companies have also cut employees this year in search of better profit margins.
