The fireworks show at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, New York, scheduled for July 4, was canceled due to a thunderstorm. The event, which was part of Independence Day celebrations, has been rescheduled for July 5. Despite the cancellation, hundreds of people enjoyed food, entertainment, live music, and a naturalization ceremony at the plaza. Traffic leaving downtown Albany was heavy, but roads have since reopened.
The Empire State Plaza in Albany, New York, will host a free concert series called Summer at the Plaza, sponsored by Miller Lite and DeCrescente Distributing Company. The Capital Concert Series will feature rock, country, and hip-hop artists, including Sheila E., Spin Doctors, Night Ranger, Eli Young Band, Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shante, and Black Sheep. The concerts will take place on four Wednesday evenings in July and August, starting at 5:30 p.m. More events will be announced in the coming weeks.
