Sanders, who played for the Buffalo Bills at the time, recounted how Mahomes' last-minute plays in the AFC division round dashed their hopes, prompting him to retire. Despite this, Sanders had a successful career with 704 catches, 9,245 yards, and 51 touchdowns, including a Super Bowl win with the Denver Broncos in 2016.
