Caeleb Dressel's World Championship Hopes Dashed as Anthony Nesty Provides Update

University of Florida head coach Anthony Nesty provided an update on swimmer Caeleb Dressel's performance at the 2023 U.S. National Championships, stating that Dressel is in a better place mentally and physically compared to last year. Dressel did not qualify for the 2023 U.S. World Championship team but showed improvement despite being off his best times. Nesty mentioned that Dressel needs to work on his power and plans to focus on training and weights to prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Nesty also addressed Emma Weyant's disqualification in the women's 400 IM and praised Katie Ledecky's impact on the Florida swim program.

Record-breaking performances highlight Day 4 of NCAA Women's Championships.

The women's 1650 free heats took place prior to the last finals session of the 2023 Women’s NCAA Championships. Swimmers were grouped into heats based on their seed time and could win the event out of any heat. Indiana’s Mariah Denigan clocked the fastest time out of the afternoon heats, winning heat five in a time of 15:52.28. Emma Weyant swam a 16:01.59 to get second, beating out her previous best time of 16:02.51.
