"Teen Sex Comedy 'Bottoms' Delivers Hilarious Absurdity with a Lesbian Twist"
Director Emma Seligman, known for her film "Shiva Baby," returns with "Bottoms," a sapphic twist on the teen sex comedy genre. Co-written with Rachel Sennott, who also stars in the film, "Bottoms" follows two awkward best friends who form a fight club at their high school to win over their cheerleader crushes and lose their virginity. The film combines elements of action and comedy, paying homage to 1990s teen films while exploring themes of feminism and the complexities of teenage relationships. Seligman and Sennott aimed to challenge traditional portrayals of female friendships and showcase the horniness of queer women on screen. "Bottoms" opens in U.S. theaters on Friday.
