Dramatic Rescues at Sea: Fishermen Saved by Coast Guard and Good Samaritans
Three fishermen were rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter crew after being found clinging to a buoy in the Atlantic waters off Nantucket. The fishermen, who were not wearing life jackets, were safely hoisted onto the helicopter and taken to Hyannis Airport for medical treatment. The rescue was made possible by an emergency radio beacon registered to their fishing vessel. The Coast Guard emphasized the importance of maintaining vital lifesaving equipment onboard vessels.
