University of Alabama student found dead in Barcelona during spring break
Twenty-year-old James “Jimmy” Gracey, a University of Alabama student from Elmhurst, was found dead Thursday in the water off a Barcelona beach while on a spring-break trip; he had last been seen outside a Shoko nightclub early Tuesday and did not return to his rented room, with police recovering his phone soon after. Gracey was a Saint Ignatius College Prep alumnus, and UA and the school mourn his loss as investigators continue to determine the cause of death; a memorial mass is planned.
