"Olympic Champion Gabby Douglas Makes Comeback to Competitive Gymnastics"
Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, the first Black gymnast to win the Olympic all-around gold medal in 2012, has announced her return to competitive gymnastics after an eight-year hiatus, with her sights set on the Paris Olympics. At 28, she will be the oldest gymnast in the upcoming Winter Cup competition and is training on all four apparatuses, with a focus on the uneven bars. Douglas, who aims to finish her career on a positive note, has made a gym change to World Olympic Gymnastics Academy and will be coached by Valeri Liukin. If selected, she will be the first American woman since Dominique Dawes to make three Olympic teams.
