Ex-Epsilon Executives Convicted in Massive Mail Fraud Scheme

Robert Reger of Boulder and David Lytle of Leawood, Kansas, were found guilty of participating in mass-mailing fraud schemes while working at Epsilon Data Management LLC. They sold targeted consumer lists to fraudsters, primarily targeting elderly and vulnerable individuals. Both face up to 20 years in federal prison for each count of conspiracy to commit mail or wire fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud. Sentencing is scheduled for September 30.

Pathan played a key role in the scheme, which targeted victims across the country by posing as Social Security Administration employees and convincing them to withdraw cash and send it via UPS or FedEx for "safe-keeping." The investigation revealed that the callers were connected to an Indian call center, and Pathan used false driver's licenses to pick up the cash-filled packages.

New Mexico student kills three in random shooting rampage.

Three elderly women were killed and six others were injured in a mass shooting in Farmington, New Mexico, by 18-year-old Beau Wilson, who was armed with three guns.
