"EF-1 Tornado Causes Severe Damage in Katy, Texas"

An EF-1 tornado with estimated winds of 90 mph caused severe damage to businesses and homes in the Katy area, including a collapsed Firestone Complete Autocare lobby and blown-out windows at Bourbon Street Sports Bar. Trees and fences were also blown down in the Nottingham County neighborhood, blocking roads and damaging cars and homes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but a CenterPoint Energy employee suffered a minor electrical shock during the assessment.

Multiple Tornadoes Cause Damage Across Jefferson County

The National Weather Service has confirmed two EF-1 tornado tracks in Jefferson County, Alabama, with wind speeds reaching up to 100 miles per hour. The first track was near Lakeshore Parkway and Samford, while the second stretched from Brookwood Mall to Cahaba Heights. Despite a tornado watch, no tornado warnings were issued in central Alabama. Tornadoes wreak havoc in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 Tornado with peak winds of between 95 and 105 mph struck parts of Wrightstown Township, Newtown Township, and Newtown Borough in Pennsylvania on April 1. The tornado followed a 3.9-mile path 200 yards wide, uprooting and snapping several trees and causing damage to the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The tornado developed as a line of storms moved through Lower Bucks County.

Irving Hit by EF-1 Tornado and Severe Storms, Causing Damage and Displacement.

The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado with max winds of 105-110 mph hit Irving, Texas on Thursday, causing hail damage to vehicles, fallen trees, and a car dealership’s roof collapse. The damage reports started trickling in from the Irving area about an hour later. NWS will continue to survey the area to determine the peak winds, max width, and path length of Thursday’s tornado.
