Otis Redding III, Son of Soul Legend, Passes Away at 59 After Cancer Battle
Otis Redding III, the son of legendary soul singer Otis Redding, has died at the age of 59 from cancer. Redding III and his brother formed the funk band The Reddings, which recorded six albums in the 1980s, but never matched their father's success. Redding III continued to play and perform after the band's final album in 1988 and was once hired as a guitarist for soul singer Eddie Floyd, under whose guidance he became comfortable performing his father's songs.
