Ed Boon, the creator of Mortal Kombat, has teased an impending announcement for Mortal Kombat 12, which is planned for release this year according to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. Boon tweeted a short video of a clock hand ticking towards 12, but skipping over it to strike 1, hinting at a possible reboot. An announcement could be imminent, possibly at Summer Game Fest. Mortal Kombat 11 was released in 2019, with its Aftermath expansion arriving the following year.
