Compton Pays Tribute to Eazy-E with Street Renaming Ceremony

The city of Compton has renamed a street after late rapper Eazy-E, honoring his impact on hip-hop and the city. Eazy-E, a member of NWA and founder of Ruthless Records, died in 1995 at age 30. The renaming ceremony, attended by Compton Mayor Emma Shariff and Eazy-E's family, celebrated the rapper's contributions to music and recognized the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. The newly named Eazy Street is located in the Gateway Towne Center shopping plaza.
