Oklahoma Makes History with Third Straight WCWS Softball Title.
Oklahoma softball won their third consecutive NCAA championship by sweeping Florida State in the Women's College World Series. The Sooners extended their NCAA-record winning streak to 53 games and joined UCLA as the only teams to win three straight Division I softball championships. Oklahoma's 61-1 record this season cements coach Patty Gasso as one of the greatest coaches in softball history. The Sooners will likely enter the 2024 season as favorites for a fourth consecutive title, which would be unprecedented in the sport since the NCAA began administering women's championships in 1982.
