Nationwide Crackdown on Impaired Driving Kicks Off
The Lincoln Police Department has launched an anti-impaired driving enforcement campaign as part of the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over initiative. Additional officers will be conducting specialized traffic enforcement focused on impaired drivers until September 4th, taking a zero-tolerance approach. The project is funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Office. In 2022, the police arrested 1,109 drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence.
