Cardinals' Rotation Woes Deepen with Matthew Liberatore's Injury
The St. Louis Cardinals' starting rotation has been hit with injuries and trades, leaving them understaffed and scrambling for starters. Rookie Matthew Liberatore and Steven Matz have both landed on the injured list, forcing the team to get creative with their pitching options. Lefty Zack Thompson will replace Liberatore in the rotation, while Drew Rom, who made his major-league debut on Monday, will start on Sunday. The Cardinals are hopeful that Liberatore and Matz will return soon, and Jake Woodford is also making progress in his recovery. Additionally, outfielder Dylan Carlson received an anti-inflammatory shot for his ankle injury, and prospect Tekoah Roby is set to make his Class AA debut.
