Padres Add Drew Carlton to Bullpen for Royals Series
The San Diego Padres have selected reliever Drew Carlton onto the big league club, while optioning Ryan Weathers to Triple-A El Paso. The team transferred Drew Pomeranz from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list to clear a 40-man roster spot. Carlton, who signed a minor league contract with San Diego over the winter, has been performing well in Triple-A. Weathers has started four of six outings at the major league level this season, while Pomeranz is on a rehab stint with El Paso.
