FBI Probes Irsay Death, Examining Doctor’s Role and Prescribed Drugs
The Colts confirmed the FBI is investigating Jim Irsay’s death, with the probe centering on his recovery physician, Dr. Harry Haroutunian, who allegedly supplied prescription pills and ketamine. A federal grand jury subpoena seeks information on Irsay’s death, his substance use, and his ties to Haroutunian, and several insiders have been interviewed; the Colts say they have not been contacted or subpoenaed. Irsay, who died at 65 in May 2025 at a Beverly Hills hotel, battled addiction and received treatment from Haroutunian, while the death certificate cites cardiac arrest from pneumonia and heart issues. Irsay had owned the Colts since 1997.
