DPS Trooper Shot in North Phoenix, Suspect in Custody
A man has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting of a DPS trooper in north Phoenix. The trooper is in stable condition at the hospital. The suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment in Glendale but was eventually taken into custody and will be booked on charges for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. This is the 32nd officer-involved shooting in Maricopa County and the 41st in the state in 2023.
