Salazar Restaurant Reopens in Former Saks Fifth Avenue Building

Chef Jose Salazar is relocating his namesake restaurant to the former Saks Fifth Avenue site in downtown Cincinnati, as part of the 101 W. Fifth Street development. The new location will open in spring 2025, while his Findlay Market restaurant, Goose & Elder, will close by June 15. Salazar is also planning to open a Moroccan-inspired wine bar named Safi.

Jaguars' Futuristic Stadium Renovation Expected to Cost Over $1.3 Billion.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released plans for a futuristic stadium remodel that could cost up to $2 billion, with possibly half of that coming from taxpayers. The changes would impact downtown and the Eastside of the city. The team president said the cost for the stadium remodel would be in the range of $1.3 to $1.4 billion, significantly less than building a new stadium. The plans call for a complete makeover, including a tropical Floridian park, a raised concourse, and a state-of-the-art shade canopy. Mayor-elect Donna Deegan will bring her own negotiating team to the table.

Spartanburg to Welcome New Minor League Baseball Team and Downtown Stadium.

Spartanburg will have a minor league baseball team for the first time in 30 years when the Down East Wood Ducks, a Texas Rangers Class A affiliate, moves into a new stadium to be built downtown next to the A.C. Hotel. The stadium will be built by general contractor Robins and Morton and will have a 3,500-seat capacity with a 5,000-square-foot club room. The $250 million-plus project will also include multi-family housing, office space, and entertainment options. The city and county of Spartanburg, OneSpartanburg Inc., The Johnson Group, the state of South Carolina, and Diamond Baseball Holdings are among the public and private entities involved in the project.
