Planned Emergency Power Outage in Brockton Overnight Tuesday

National Grid has scheduled a 9-hour emergency power outage in downtown Brockton from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday to conduct urgent underground cable repairs. The outage will affect approximately 450 customers, including many downtown businesses. Residents and businesses are advised to prepare by checking flashlights and batteries, keeping refrigerators and freezers closed, and ensuring cell phones are charged. The fire department has provided additional safety recommendations and directed all inquiries to National Grid.

Several businesses and homes in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, are still without power days after a weekend storm. Owners and residents are urging patience as they deal with the aftermath. The power outage has resulted in significant financial losses for businesses, including The Original Cottage Inn, which had to throw away $15,000 worth of food. Approximately 2,300 residents in Washtenaw County are still without power, down from nearly 11,000 on Monday. DTE Energy has attributed the outage to wind damage and expects 95% of customers to have power restored by Tuesday evening.

Akron Businesses Suffer Broken Windows and Decreased Traffic Following Jayland Walker Protests.

Several downtown Akron businesses, including Wally Waffle, Irie Jamaican Kitchen, and Chipotle, had their windows broken and glass scattered across the sidewalk on Wednesday night, following a protest demanding justice for Jayland Walker. The Evans building downtown on Exchange Street also had one window damaged overnight. There is no word on any arrests made for the damage done to buildings downtown or the protest.
