Mikaela Shiffrin Hospitalized After Scary Downhill Crash
American skier Mikaela Shiffrin crashed during a World Cup downhill race in Italy and was taken to a clinic for evaluation of a left leg injury, with initial analysis indicating intact ACL and PCL. Shiffrin, who has a record 95 Alpine skiing World Cup wins, left the course using ski poles as crutches and reassured teammates via WhatsApp. Olympic downhill gold medalist Corinne Suter also experienced trouble on the same jump and had to be transported away from the course.
